"Many people think they have to feel good in the first place for laughter. But you can start from scratch, you can even start feeling unhappy and just laugh as a form of exercise, and happy feelings follow. "- Jeffrey Briar, Certified Laughter Yoga Teacher.

In 1995, a family physician in India, Dr. Madan Kataria, started the first laughter club in a park in Bombay, India to implement what they rightly call or Hasya Laughter Yoga (Hasya " means laughter in Sanskrit). Dr. Kataria was conducting an investigation on the effects of laughter on health and was amazed by the number of studies showing major physiological and psychological benefits of laughter.

Armed with determination and a desire to help others improve their health and sense of wellbeing through laughter, he went to a public park near his home and convinced four others to start a laughter club there. This action was considered to be a bit odd by her friends and colleagues. However, little by little, more and more people joined in today, his friends laugh at him anymore, now that are laughing at him: laughter is contagious, Laughter Yoga and has spread around the world.

Since the beginning of Laughter Yoga in the park, in Bombay, Dr. Kataria Laughter Yoga has the schools and orphanages, prisons, hospitals, nursing homes, institutions for people with disabilities, and businesses. In addition, clubs Laughs have emerged worldwide.

Laughter Yoga Sessions

Sessions will not use humor to invoke laughter, not find people sitting in a circle taking turns telling jokes or using humor to get laughs another. Instead, a session of Laughter Yoga is a series exercises that include simulations of laughter yoga techniques, funny gestures, smiles and laughter systematic, and improv-like activities. You do not have to be happy to laugh and does not need a reason to laugh: scientists and doctors agree that false or simulated laughter has the same physiological effects of laughter spontaneous. That is, false until you do.

Although some simple techniques of yoga are incorporated into the Laughter Yoga sessions – such as breathing with deep inhalation and exhalation through the nose long and the shoulders, neck and stretching exercises – will not be asked to be "down position of the dog "or" Triangle Pose "for Laughter Yoga. The main reason is called Laughter Yoga is because the word" Yoga "means union or integration of body and mind and soul.
