Necklace Bracelet

/Why people use a cord of blue on a bracelet or a gold necklace?

It's something I've noticed a couple of times. Some people wear a bracelet very nice gold necklace or gold and blue have an account there. Howcome?

I'm not 100% sure but I think it is a symbol for the 'evil eye. "I was told by people who are wearing a blue string in their gold chains too.
