Whether expensive or not, proper care should be given to a tie for long use. Here are some tips on how to properly care for the ties:

Tip No. 1 – Always untie your tie when not in use. Avoid ready to use, slip-on knotted tie to avoid permanent wrinkles. Untie when you're not using; trigger before putting back into your closet. Of course, doing so is necessary to tie it again next time. Any inconvenience considering that you could leave tie that way and just glide through my head again. But remember, the longer it is knotted tie is harder to remove the crease.

Tip No. 2 – Reverse the knot to lighten the fold. Occasionally you can tie your tie inversely to reverse the fold. The surface of the fiber and tie are most affected.

Tip No. 3 – Remove the tie knot correctly. Do not pull the shorter end to avoid unnecessary stretching of the fabric.

Tip No. 4 – When you save them, silk ties are best hung individually but if unavoidable, for example, maintenance of the inside of your luggage for travel or crate, can also fold them gently. Either way, make sure you move from time to time to prevent wrinkles as well. Turn carefully and put it into one of luggage pocket or roll and place them in a small box instead.

Tip No. 5 – Keep your tie rolled for 1 or 2 days to eliminate or alleviate fold or overcome by himself for half a day.

Tip # 6 – Do not tie the knots too tight. If you do, avoid tension on the tissue that can cause permanent creases.

Tip No. 7 – Use a hand steamer. This is effective in removing wrinkles from a tie where the knot is formed. But do this quickly and sparingly maybe once a month or every 2 months to avoid damaging its ties with the heat and steam.

Tip No. 8 – Never Send silk ties for dry cleaning. Yes, probably can remove any stain, but also directly apply heat and press flat tie, not to mention his ties diminish their brightness. Despite wool ties, clean and dry is the best option. The normal washing with soap and water can cause shortening of fabric.

Tip No. 9 – When links of iron, make sure that no steam in question and they always do on the back of the tie. Never iron your tie before, because it can reduce the brightness of his tie, and even cause permanent wrinkles. Silk ties to maintain the minimum temperature, but may increase the temperature a little higher for the polyester.

Tip No. 10 — Keep your ties in a dry and clean to prevent moisture, mold and insect bites. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and perspiration. These lessen the force of the tie with sweat and moisture and acidity can damage the tie. Insecticide put inside your closet or drawer to prevent insect attacks. Regardless of the fabric of their ties, small insects such as clothes moths can chew away ties.
