The Metropolitan Costume Institute Gala is widely accepted as the best party of the year and inspires its customers get all the stops. This, my friends, is not an occasion LBD for trusted or ball gown carrying a black-tie event three years ago. This is an opportunity for the glamor, elegance and style by the bucket loads and the perfect time to show your quirky side.

This year Met Ball took place on Monday night and the red carpet was graced with an expected party dresses fabulous. So many ladies wearing dresses made great it was impossible to pick just one favorite, so here is a brief tour of the three first (be sure to check back next week for the rest of the top ten !)…

Looking every inch the fairytale princess, Anne Hathaway dazzled in a beautiful champagne Valentino dress that was both intriguing, but all with class. The bright and sparkling bustier, skirt to the ground made for a dress of your dreams that was gorgeous in every way imaginable.

Taylor Swift also looked amazing in her white dress from Ralph Lauren – a beautiful white dress with delicate lace subtle-trim that perfectly fits your body and often curls bounce.

Jennifer Lopez was simply stunning dress with a full skirt to the ground by Zuhair Murad. The bodice of her dress was exquisitely decorated with beads on a shiny silver tone warm clothing continued to fall on the side fan – divine!

Many Met Ball gowns this year paid tribute to the current trend of dazzling metal pallets in silence and someone who managed to perfectly combine these two trends Sarah Jessica Parker was 70 years inspired bright naked Heritage Halston dress. Jessica Alba, however, looked like a screen goddess of the 1950s in her dress dark pink Theallet Sophie, like Marion Cotillard in her brilliant and ever so delicately beaded Christian Dior number.

Claire Danes wore a dress Burberry pewter strapless that cleverly managed to look elegant and avant-garde and Nicole Richie wore a Marc Jacobs dress sparkling silver was cut in an orderly manner at the waist with a black belt. Diane Kruger bravely opted for a body-hugging white dress at Calvin Klein, who brilliantly left both everything and nothing to the imagination and at least stylist Last, but not to the stars Rachel Zoe turned her head all on a vibrant buttercup yellow velvet dress by Marc Jacobs must have an looks horrible, but somehow it was perfect.
