Fathers Day/
/What do you think about my message for Father's Day?

Im thinking of writing for this Father's Day: Thank you for understanding and believing in me. Thanks for helping me when I needed it. And especially thanks for …. I do not know what next door. Need some help. Thank you!

Add to gift list any reason why he appreciates. Maybe they have enrolled in a wall of the plague. Please do not get a joke card. In my 20 + years working with parents, has been rare for a joke card that mocks their abilities is really appreciated. I wrote this for "Dear Abby" for Father's Day March 19, 2005. GRATITUDE job well done is what parents WANT TO HEAR DEAR ABBY: Today is Father's Day, so why not try to do more to Dear old dad to give him the usual greeting card that promotes the idea that all parents are idiots, followed by a collect call to see what he thought of the card. (Father's Day is the day that was most collect calls.) We should treat our parents the way we treat our mothers on Mother's Day and show you appreciate them for being there. Yes, probably his father all the time that you love, but men's minds work differently. Anyone can say "I love you you", but that men, knowing they are appreciated for a job well done is what really makes us teary-eyed. Another thing you can do – especially you kids out there (but daughters can, too) – is making sure that Dad has gone to the doctor for a checkup, including depression screening. This can go a long way toward ensuring that you are here next year on Father's Day. I was not raised by my father, but by a stepfather. Although they could not see the eyes of many things, I would not be the person I am today if not for him. This man, who spent years climbing on top of heavy construction equipment to prepare the ground for many of the homes, businesses, roads and highways of Southern California, now has difficulty getting into a car. Although none of the houses or the roads your name on them, are all examples of his life and the lives of men like him. So today, let's do something extra for Dad, without him, taking out his wallet to pay for it. – George McCasland, Overland Park, Kansas ***************************************** * ********************* Remember, there are a lot of us parents sitting in nursing homes, whose children live too far away to visit. Contact with an activities director about volunteering in the Sunday morning. Read a list aloud about why he thanked his father.
