Jewelry – An Overview

This month we take a look at the different types of results, or the parts you need to add a clasp to a bracelet or a necklace, add your accounts receivable with a slope, or complete the design of jewelry with the hook of his case, closure, or "gossip."

What is a finding? It is a metal, plastic, wood or part of gemstones and conforms to the wineries or confer a gemstone, pearl, or other finding. Depending on the design, the conclusion is usually incorporated at the end of the development process, but not always. Some conclusions can be part of the design, mixed with beads, used to hold stones and so on.

Many jewelry designers prefer to design and manufacture their own conclusions because there is nothing available to work with your design, and also gives her jewelry to a unique signature look. Others prefer to use what is available on the market. There are tens of thousands of different types of results in existence. Sometimes antique or vintage finds are available and highly valued for giving design that "period" look. Currently you can get most types of simple conclusions on various metals such as sterling silver, karat gold, coated base metals into gold or silver, Vermeil (pound carat gold-plated) or tin. There are some styles available in the search for copper.

Check in his jewelry box to see if they can identify some of the results used in your necklaces, bracelets, earrings. Here is a brief overview of some of the names of the findings.

For example, a little gizmo is the clutch slipping on the back slope of the post to keep from falling off the ear. Sometimes known as a clutch butterfly or a clutch of comfort.

One post is fine stiff wire soldered to the back of a slope so you can push through a perforation.

Eyeglass holder of the belt is a wire or rubber figure-8 to find the piece that contains part of a pair of glasses and joins a string of pearls in a decorative to wear your glasses when not in the nose.

Badge clip is a metal piece that has your ID card, and a string of beads decorating, etc. can be connected.

Slats rings are circles of thin wire that has put the grain, then you can fold one end up and fits into a loop or hole.

A jump ring is a circle of wire that can be opened so you can connect the ring to a loop or another ring. You can not do without them, are ubiquitous. Attach the charms of a chain with a jump ring. You can also get soldier jump rings that do not open. Jewelers occasionally make the jump ring chain, or manufacturing their own jump rings wire winding around a mandrel or form.

A division ring is as small ring key chain. They are around wound several times so they are very stable, unlike the jump rings that can be propagated and fall.

Wire is one component of the jewel cheap. It is the pound sterling, gold, copper or silver. Clever designers can create unusual designs and results with the wire.

Memory is a wire strong but fragile that it stays there, he joined. It is easy to do designs with memory wire accounts. It comes in the ring, bracelet and necklace sizes. An ounce of memory wire bracelet size reminds me of Slinky toys we used to see down the stairs.

From beads are cone shaped metal cone (or other) parts to use on the ends of necklaces or bracelets, especially good with several designs stranded.

Bead Caps are cuvette-shaped pieces of metal with a hole in the center to fit more than one account. Very decorative addition to any design.

A bond is an accessory in the form of a pendant so that you can hang from a string. Bonds come in different designs, sizes and shapes.

A chain is also very useful in designing jewelry. Each pattern of links has a different name, like the picture, cable, long and short, Rolo, braking, Figaro, anchor, rope, herringbone, foxtail, Byzantine, omega, snake. A recent trend is the chain with larger, hammered, twisted or otherwise finished chain and can be costly.
