/2003 Silverado automatic temperature control?

We have a friend with a Silverado 2003. Automatic climate control has dual zones. Independently what the temperature is selected on each side of the driver or the passenger side of the absolute temperature ranges from hot to cold. Sometimes the areas are synchronized and sometimes one side hot and the other cold. Each time the truck is running there is no rhyme or reason as to when you change or rename a. In desperation, we have tried to re-learn the actuators and access codes (with a hook in the scanner). There are no codes of any kind. Recent repairs include alternator battery, and the resistance of fan motor, but I think this problem preceded the replacements. We do not have access to a 2, so any suggestion that include the use of one is not much. Thanks Tech help

Not sure if this will help, but it's worth a shot. Vehicle: 1999 – 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 1999 4.3L 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4.8L 1999-2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 5.3L Symptom: The only hot air heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) after the replacement or repair of an HVAC system component. Automatic air conditioning system only. Problem: The valve actuator air mix needs to be recalibrated. Test & Fix: The air conditioning system by default to blow hot air when the system has lost the battery voltage or if the valve actuator Mix air has been ordered to move without being properly installed in the HVAC case first. Any of the above conditions are required by the Air Mix Valve Actuator to be recalibrated. To adjust the air mix valve actuator, start with the ignition key removed from ignition cylinder lock, disconnect the negative battery cable and touch the negative cable to the positive. Reconnect the negative battery cable. Place the ignition key in the lock cylinder and turn the key to the key the engine off (KOEO) position for at least 40 seconds. Turn the key. Now start the engine and verify proper operation of the HVAC system. NOTE: If the air temperature actuator had taken place with the air valve actuator Mix disconnected from the heater case and door temperature will require that the power supply and ground the air mixture valve actuator to activate the actuator motor center before reinstalling it in the heater case. After reinstalling, follow the procedure above to recalibrate the actuator.
