Design Abstract

Ideas for an abstract painting?

I have to make an abstract design art for my art class one square inch of taking a photo and painting in monochromatic colors. I was thinking of a cone? Any other ideas would be great. Basically I'm oversimplifying a small portion of an image. Painting will be 18X18, and I'm having surgery on my right shoulder on Monday, so the simpler the better. Thanks!
